The Mission International Church:

Loving God, Loving You

The Mission International Church (church plant of Olivet Baptist Church, HOKSBA affiliated) first began on the Wichita State University campus in 2008 by a group of international students looking to share Christ with other students on campus.

Up until 2020, the Mission met weekly on campus at Wichita State University, for Sunday gatherings, prayer meetings, and other events. Once COVID-19 struck, the church had to find a place where they could freely meet and continue to outreach to those at the university, specifically international students. A few HOKSBA affiliated churches graciously let the church use their buildings in the afternoons. However, the Mission has always had a heart to be as near to WSU campus as possible, to be able to easily outreach to international students living on and around the area.

Why Are We Doing This Fundraiser?

The Mission International Church has grown incredibly since its inception, and as a church body we believe it is time to have our own physical place of worship. Having always been considered a "nomadic" church, a building of our own would give The Mission a great opportunity to have a permanent home next to Wichita State Campus, where we can open our doors to any student searching for community, family and truth. We are walking by faith, believing that God has provided us with the right space and trusting that He will continue to provide the finances for us to be able to build our future here as a church body.

Regular Events

Sunday Gathering, 4:10 PM Weekly

Every Sunday afternoon, the church comes together for a time of worship. The 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month also include a fellowship dinner.

Prayer Meeting, 7:00 PM Wednesdays

On Wednesday evenings, the church comes together to share praise reports and prayer requests, as well as take part in communion together.

Game Night, 7:00 PM Fridays

Every Friday, The Mission ends the week by hosting a game night. Pizza and drinks are served, and this is often used as a time to connect with nonbelievers.

Other Events

The Mission often hosts events throughout the year, such as a Fall or Spring Welcome Party to intentionally get to know the new international students attending Wichita State University.

Fundraising Efforts

As part of our efforts to begin fundraising for a church, we will be holding a Chili Feed & Silent Auction on Saturday, January 31st, 2026 at Victory Temple Church (located at 2459 N Hillside St, Wichita, KS 67219). We see this not only as a fundraising opportunity, but also an opportunity for us to share a look into our church’s passion for outreach to international students among other growing ministries.

Month/Year	Specific Goal

Spring 2025	Complete our 501(c)(3) application, separating us from Olivet Baptist Church and making us an independent entity known as ‘The Mission International Church.’

Spring 2025	Publicly share our intent to purchase a church building and start fundraising online (financial goal of $1 Million).

June 7, 2025	Hosting a Garage & Bake Sale fundraiser at Victory Temple Church (2459 N Hillside St, Wichita, KS 67219).

January 31, 2026	Hosting a Chili Feed & Silent Auction Fundraiser at 2459 N Hillside St

Spring 2026	Continue on with our fundraising efforts, speaking to churches and other local ministries to share our mission and gather further support, financial and other.
